L	Meaning in Thai	Example
Left in the dark	ถูกปล่อยให้อยู่ใน ความมืนงง	I was left in the dark I did the test
Long time no see	ไม่เจอกันนานนะ	Long time no see
Look on the bright side	มองในด้านดีๆ	You should look on the bright side
Lose face	เสียชื่อเสียง	To lose one’s reputation or standing is to lose face
Love is blind	ความรักทำให้คนตาบอด	–
M	Meaning in Thai	Example
Make a request	เรียกร้อง, ต้องการบางสิ่ง	you have make a request to the finance department
Make my day	ทำให้ฉันมีความสุข	you make my day
Make waves	ทำเรื่อง	If someone makes waves, they cause a lot of trouble.
Meet someone halfway	พบกันครึ่งทาง

Middle of nowhere	ไม่รู้อยู่ที่ไหน	I am in the middle of nowhere
mince words	พูดกำกวม. พูดอ้อมๆ	Don’t mince your words

Not my cup of tea	ไม่ใข่สิ่งที่ชอบ	That shirt is not my cup of tea
Nuts and bolts	ส่วนที่สำคัญที่สุด	lofty goals without specifying the nuts and bolts of how they are to be achieved
O	Meaning in Thai	Example
Off the chart	เกินมาตรฐาน	Basketball’s TV income is already off the charts.
Off the shelf	พร้อมใช้งาน	The product is off the shelf
Oh my goodness!	แสดงความประหลาดใจ	–
On hold	สถานะหยุดไว้	The project is now on hold
On the same page	มีข้อมูลและ ความเข้าใจเดียวกัน	Now, we are on the same page
On the shelf	เสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้ว	The product is on the shelf
on the tip of your tongue	ติดอยู่ที่ริมฝีปาก	I cannot remember now. It is on the tip of my tongue

A picture is worth a thousand words	รูปภาพรูปเดียวมีความหมาย มากกว่าคำหลายๆ คำ	Wow! That picture is worth a thousand words
Against the clock	แข่งกับเวลา	I have to do that job against the clock
Ahead of time	ก่อนเวลา	It happened ahead of time
All along	ตลอดเวลา	He can be trusted because I have known him all along
All ears	I am very interested in	I am all ears
All set	พร้อมสำหรับบางสิ่ง	I’m all set
At the end of the day	ในที่สุดแล้ว	Finally
At the top of the list	สำคัญที่สุด	you are at the top of the list
B	Meaning in Thai	Example
Bad mouth	ปากเสีย	you got a bad mouth
Bare your heart	จริงใจ	he bares his heart with me

all over the place	ทั่วไปหมด	There are environmental problems all over the place.
B	Meaning in Thai	Example
bloody	สุดๆๆ	What a bloody day!
to be blue	อารมณ์เศร้า	She’s been feeling blue all day.
be broke	ไม่มีเงิน	I can’t go to the cinema with you, I’m broke.
to brush up on sb.	ขัดเกลา	I have to brush up on my Spanish.
buck	= Dollar	You can buy a DVD player for less than 100 bucks (dollars).
C	Meaning in Thai	Example
to catch something	จับได้ทัน	Sorry, I didn’t quite catch your telephone number.
to catch cold	เป็นหวัด	I walked out in the rain, so I caught cold.
